Miniature ball screw

A compact solution for a precise linear motion in a limited space.

Discover more

The miniature ground ball screw is a precision linear drive designed for compact spaces, providing high precision positioning, smooth running and long service life in micro-mechanical applications.

High precision in compact dimensions

The miniature ball screws achieve high positioning accuracy of less than 3.5 micrometers due to precision thread grinding – according to ISO 3408 standards.

Technical advantages in miniature scale

Every single detail of our miniature ball screw is designed with precision, compactness and reliability in mind.

Very high running smoothness

Due to the optimized thread profile, the high-quality ball recirculation system and the precise surface treatment (polishing or passivation), these screws ensure high smooth running.

Long service life

The choice of an input raw material made of high-quality hardened steel, optimized rolling contact between ball nut and ball shaft, leads to minimal wear and prolongs service life even in non-standard conditions (extreme temperatures: ‑40 °C to +120 °C, operating speeds: up to 8000 RPM, presence of chemicals).

Backlash elimination

By preloading the miniature ball nut, which we adjust according to the needs of the final application, we can eliminate axial play, which is crucial for applications requiring high repeatability and accuracy.

Compact dimensions

Due to the manufacturing and technological know-how, allowing production from small diameters (from 4 mm) with fine pitch (from 0.5 mm), these screws are ideal for applications with limited space, such as medical devices or micro-mechanics.

Short delivery times

Due to our flexible production model, we are able to deliver a miniature ball screw for your application in as little as 2 weeks.

Suitable applications

Electron microscopes

  • Use in multi-axis manipulators, which are one of the basic mechanical units of electron microscopes, responsible for the resulting resolution of samples down to nanometers.
  • The most precise ground and polished ball screws with preloaded nut.

Medicine

  • Applications range from automated sample handlers, CT, ultrasound and MRI components to autonomous surgical robots.
  • Depending on the application, the most precise ground and polished ball screws with preloaded nut can be used, but also less precise positioning screws.

Spectroscopy

  • Ball screws are used in manipulators (positioning tables) and measuring devices, which are used for detailed analysis of an almost unlimited range of materials.
  • Ground and polished ball screws with preloaded nut.

Motorsport

  • They are used in actuators that are part of high-performance gearboxes in motorsport racing, capable of withstanding high accelerations, temperatures and high speeds.
  • The most precise lightweight ground and polished ball screws with preloaded nut.

Servo Actuators

  • Ball screws are a key component of servo actuators, which find their application in equipment across the industrial spectrum – from high-volume production in the automotive industry to specialized single-purpose equipment in the food industry, for example.
  • Depending on the application, precision ground miniature ball screws with preloaded ball nuts as well as miniature ball screws with axial play can be used

Electroerosion machine tools

  • Miniature ball screws are used as components of linear axes of high-precision and high-performance machines enabling 3D micro machining of even high-strength materials.
  • High precision ball screws with preloaded nut.

Semiconductor manufacturing

  • Used in the production of printed circuit boards, serving as semi-finished products for the most powerful semiconductor microchips of the future.
  • The most precise ground and polished ball screws with preloaded nut.
